This position will support CROWN Food Division Plants in the Eastern and upper Midwest United States.

Position Overview:
In this role, you will act as the primary, US-based technical manager for all coating-related activity within CROWN's North American Food Division.
This role requires collaboration with CROWN's Technical Center, production facilities, division management, regulatory department, and suppliers to provide technical support for the development and performance of lacquer coatings applied to metal packaging for food products.
On-site management of qualification trials (both coating application and fabrication using coated materials) and investigation of coating related quality issues are the primary focus of this position.
Position
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with CROWN's Technical Center to develop and maintain a portfolio of qualified coatings that are suitable for the full range of customer food products, package performance, and regulatory requirements.
Work directly with lacquer coating suppliers to establish trial performance requirements and schedule trials.
Provide on-site technical support for coating trial activity at 8 production facilities located in the Eastern and upper-Midwestern US regions.
Write and distribute technical reports summarizing the results of all coating and fabrication trials.
Support the Food Division and our Technical Center with the investigation and resolution of coating-related quality and performance issues.
Manage multiple aspects of CROWN's materials specification database.
Liaise with CROWN's Customer Technical Services team and Technical Center to coordinate filled-product trials at customer facilities.
Arrange and contribute to technical meetings between CROWN and its suppliers.
Travel requirements vary and may peak at 80% when trial activity is heavy.
The ideal candidate would possess the following attributes:
BA/BS degree in engineering, science, packaging, or a related discipline.

years in materials development and/or packaging manufacturing environment, food production, or a similar industry.
Experience managing projects while interfacing with multiple departments.
Technical experience with lacquer coating applications, particularly to metal substrates, is highly preferred but not required.
Effective communication skills are needed for this role, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to interact with suppliers and employees at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to effectively and simultaneously manage multiple projects to completion.
Self-motivated and eager to take the initiative, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting and as an individual.
Well organized and detail oriented with good time management skills.
Strong PC skills are a must, especially using Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
Committed to on-going personal development and career growth.
Knowledge and/or certification in Six Sigma is a bonus.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
